Zora Bronze Plaque
This bronze plaque was commissioned as a memorial to Zora Neal Hurston, an American author, anthropologist, folklorist and documentary filmmaker. She is best known for her novels, including on titled "Their Eyes Were Watching God".
She was born in Alabama in 1891, and moved to Florida a few years later with her family. As an adult, she attended Howard University in Washington, DC. where she earned an associate degree, after 4 years was awarded a scholarship to Barnard College of Columbia University by the founder. She received a B.A. in anthropology in 1928.
